About Us
Dedicated to well being
My belief in plant medicine began early. When I was a child and feeling unwell, I’d watch my mother step into the backyard garden and return with something to steep, crush, or apply — always a plant, always with care. I didn’t know the names then, but I knew they worked. They made me feel better, and that was enough to spark a lifelong trust in nature’s remedies.
As I grew older and eventually moved out on my own, those traditions came with me. I continued practicing the folk methods I was raised with — grounding, intuitive, and rooted in lived experience. Over time, that foundation led me to formal study at Pacific Rim College, where I earned my diploma in Phytotherapy (Western Herbalism) and gained the technical knowledge to prepare plant medicines in every form, from teas and tinctures to oils and salves.
Today, my herbal consultations are a blend of tradition and training. During your session, we’ll explore your mind, body, and spirit as a whole — discussing your current symptoms, diet, lifestyle, and the state of your nervous system. Together, we’ll uncover the root of your concerns and create a personalized plan that supports your health goals with herbal formulas tailored specifically for you.
Why choose Rainyday Curiosities?
My Approach to Herbal Medicine
Most of the tinctures I create are made using a 1:1 ratio, reflecting my strong belief in drop dosing — also known as spirit dosing. This gentle, intentional approach uses only a fraction of a typical therapeutic dose, supporting subtle yet powerful shifts in the body and spirit. Of course, when a situation calls for therapeutic dosing, I formulate accordingly, ensuring your remedy matches your needs.
Every formula is thoughtfully customized — whether you need a tincture, capsule, tea, salve, oil, flower essence, or even incense. I choose the form that best supports your body, lifestyle, and healing process.
And sometimes, what’s most needed isn’t a remedy at all — it’s space. Space to speak freely, feel heard, and be witnessed without judgment. If our time together turns into a moment of reflection, you’ll always find tea brewing and tissues close by. Holding space is part of the medicine too.
The Queen of Pentacles – My Mission Statement
The Queen of Pentacles is the heart of my practice and the spirit behind everything I offer. She embodies the nurturing, grounded wisdom of Earth — practical, generous, and deeply rooted in care. If you were to visit her, she’d greet you with open arms and a warm bowl of soup, offering comfort before you even ask.
She knows how to blend the sacred with the everyday — tending to both the garden and the soul, the budget and the ritual. Her strength lies in her presence, her ability to hold space, and her unwavering belief that healing happens when we feel safe, seen, and supported.
This is the energy I bring to every consultation, remedy, and conversation. Like the Queen of Pentacles, I believe in healing through nourishment, magic through practicality, and wholeness through care — one person, one moment, one cup of tea at a time.

Is herbal treatment right for me?
Herbal medicine can be a powerful and supportive tool for a wide range of physical, emotional, and mental health concerns. My focus is working with clients navigating mental health challenges — including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, substance use, personality disorders, psychosis, and disordered eating. I bring years of experience from previous roles in mental health and addiction support, along with deep patience and care for those walking complex healing paths.
That said, you don’t need to have a diagnosed condition to benefit from herbal support. Everyday concerns — like sleep troubles, stress, digestive issues, fatigue, or emotional overwhelm — are just as valid. No concern is too small, and you won’t be boxed into a label here.
Consultations are available by phone, Zoom, or in some cases, through house calls within Victoria and parts of Saanich. When possible, I find that seeing a client’s home environment helps me understand how best to support their healing journey.
If you’re curious about whether herbal treatment is right for you, reach out. I’m happy to answer your questions and help you explore your options — gently, respectfully, and without pressure.
